Here we go fam

I have been getting many questions around what is next for me. Scratch that, I’ve been getting many questions like, ‘Monica what do you actually do?’ Well I thought I would take a moment to fill you all in on what’s been going on in my professional career and update you on what’s next.

Some of you know per a very vague instagram post i shared a few weeks back that quite literally everything in my life is about to change. I don’t know about you, but I have spent a lot of my life contemplating at this time of year how ‘next year will be different’ I write out how i’m going to:

  1. Become fully debt free.
  2. Move into a position where i can work from home full time
  3. Double my ministry’s growth and income
  4. Have a set aside savings just for generosity

I started 2017 with that list above, really hopeful that this would be ‘my year’ only to find myself extremely frustrated and disappointed as the year winded down and I was not there. If you really know me, you know that I work A LOT. I have felt especially that the past two years have been some of the hardest years for me professionally. I have worked harder than I ever have in my professional career, only to feel like I'm not seeing any result, some of you can understand my pain!!  And as I began to sulk in the fact that I felt like a failure, i decided in that moment that I was instead going to write out what I am thankful for and why I am so thankful to be exactly where I am, BEFORE making a ‘game plan’ of how to get my shit together in 2018.

For the past year and a half I have worked part time, essentially doing non profit consulting. I have worked for two amazing non-profits, one from home and another in an office in McKinney. In October, I felt the Lord shifting me to move. To transition to a full time work from home position. Now my ministry is not in a place where I can receive a salary just yet, so I relied heavily on these part time jobs to fund my salary. Long story short, I took the step of faith to leave my role in McKinney to transition to work from home. Now, I didn’t even have a position set in stone, but I had faith and I had a track record of God being faithful and decided to move.

Instead of worrying, I decided to sit in my thankfulness a bit longer. And when I did just that, crazy opportunities began to knock down at my door. Doors that when peaking through allowed me to actually, practically see how I can get to the other side of my above dreams and goals.

So what’s next for me? What are those doors?

Well I can officially say that I am working from home full time!!

I will continue to lead We Are Unveiled on a part time basis in 2018. AND I have teamed up with a luxury hair care brand which provides natural hair products that promote hair growth, repair, and overall health (more on this coming soon because y'all this story is CRAZY.)

The best thing about all of this is that I will be able to truly empower other women to chase their dreams by chasing my own. I get to work alongside some amazing, driven, dreamers and doers who are committed to leaving a legacy behind (and our team is always growing).  I get to continue to lead the people around me by empowering them to step into the fullness of who God created them to be. And I get to continue to invest in myself and my ministry while doing it all.

I don’t have a full plan in place for 2018. But i do know that I am about to step into some of the best days in my career and I hope you will join me on this journey. I would love for you to stay connected me and my journey by filling out the form below.

Let’s make it the best year yet!
